Schola Cantorum Vox Iubilantis

Schola Cantorum Vox Iubilantis is a Latvian professional female vocal ensemble specializing in the interpretation of medieval music, with particular focus on Gregorian chant and late medieval repertoire. In addition, the ensemble performs a diverse range of works encompassing forms of late medieval polyphony as well as contemporary vocal compositions.

The ensemble has appeared at festivals and concerts in Latvia and abroad, including performances in Baltic States, Switzerland, Slovakia, and Italy.

The ensemble has developed its artistic profile through masterclasses and collaborations with leading specialists in medieval chant and internationally recognized musicians, including Franz Karl Prassl (Austria), Jaan-Eik Tulve (Estonia), Juan Carlos Asensio (Spain) and composer Henrik Ødegaard (Norway). It has created diverse concert programmes and performed in collaboration with artists such as Nicola Cittadin (Italy); Ilona Birģele, Ilze Reine, Jana Zariņa, Ieva Saliete, and Gertrūde Jerjomenko (Latvia); Geir Davidsen (Norway); Manuel Fernandez (Latvia/Spain); and Ainārs Šablovskis (Latvia).

Its aims are to develop, preserve, and further cultivate medieval singing traditions in Latvia and beyond; to promote medieval music—especially Gregorian chant and early polyphony—in Latvia and internationally; to encourage and support high-quality performance and creative work in sacred and liturgical music; and to support, promote, and popularize music of all genres and styles.
